Allison and Vanya, The Umbrella Academy

The Hargreeves family is full of complicated relationships, perhaps none more so than the bond between Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman) and Vanya (Ellen Page). After Vanya wrote a tell-all book about growing up inside the Umbrella Academy without any powers, much of the family turned their backs on her, but Allison didn’t. We then find out that the Hargreeves’ father actually had Allison mind control Vanya into thinking she didn’t have any powers when they were children. Turns out, Vanya was the most powerful one of them all.

After getting into an argument, as sisters do, Vanya loses control of her powers and cuts Allison’s throat. The rest of the family arrive to save her, but her vocal cords had been damaged, so she isn’t able to speak or use her powers. In the season finale battle with power-crazy Vanya, Allison is the one who tries to save her sister, going against the rest of the family’s plan to kill her. With season two just around the corner, we can’t wait to see where these sisters go from there.
