The long-awaited fourth season of Wynonna Earp is on its way, and we’ve been given a glimpse of what’s to come for Wynonna, Doc, and the rest of Purgatory.

Despite the fact that Wynonna Earp had been renewed for a fourth season before its third season ended, fans are still waiting two years later for new episodes.

A combination of behind-the-scenes financial issues paired with the COVID-19 pandemic put a few glitches in the production schedule, with several members of the cast confirming that about only half of the season had been filmed at HomeCon earlier this year.

However, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have now been blessed with two new scenes from the upcoming season four that shows Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna), Kat Barrell (Nicole Haught), Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp), and Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday) back in action.

Viewers will recall that the end of season 3 left off with quite a few cliffhangers. Doc had just become a vampire, Waverly found out that she was part angel, and Nicole was promoted to the sheriff of the town of Purgatory following Nedley’s retirement. Wynonna found herself without Peacemaker, her trusty firearm, after a knock-down fight with Bulshar that saw both heroes and revenants uniting to defeat the Big Bad.

Oh, and the Earp family curse is finally lifted, too. Waverly and Doc are pulled into some mystical gateway, while a devastated Wynonna returns to an empty town, with Nicole and the rest of the citizens gone. Well, except for Nedley.

While the huge gap in time between seasons leaves plenty of room for the show to start over, it was assumed that Wynonna would launch a search and rescue mission for her baby sister and ex-lover. From the look of the newly released pictures, it seems as though Wynonna finally finds Nicole in what looks like them getting ready for a fight.

Doc and Waverly are also shown looking worried and awestruck…wherever they are. Although there still isn’t a definitive date, the fourth season of the award-winning Wynonna Earp is expected to premiere sometime this summer on SyFy.
