Feel Good

A co-production with the BBC and Netflix, Feel Good is a refreshingly queer take on an old story:  Girl meets girl. They fall head over heels fast and discover that as much as they like each other, they have a lot to learn about each other’s lives.

The show is loosely autobiographical with Canadian comedian Mae Martin writing the series and starring as Mae, a London ex-pat stand-up comic determined to chart out her own path on her recovery.

When George (Charlotte Ritchie, Call the Midwife) sees Mae perform stand-up one night, the two hit it off and fall hard and fast. Things become complicated when George learns Mae is an addict. Meanwhile, George has a hard time progressing with Mae, her first relationship with a woman.

At turns moving, funny, and romantic, Feel Good is a fast binge with a typically British six-episode season. Martin charms in her first lead role, holding her own against heavyweight Lisa Kudrow, who plays Martin’s simultaneously cloying and withholding mother.

Feel Good has not yet been renewed for a second season. Take a few hours to breeze through the first and boost its ratings. All episodes are available on Netflix now.
