Grace and Frankie

With six seasons and counting, Grace and Frankie is on this list as much for its gay icons as it is for the older gay love story at its center.

In case you have somehow missed this show, Grace and Frankie revolves around two married couples. The husbands, Sol and Robert (Sam Waterston and Martin Sheen) are longtime law partners, but their wives, the eponymous, Grace and Frankie (the always divine Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin), couldn’t be any more different and despise each other.

In the show’s pilot, Sol and Robert take their wives to dinner to confess they are, in fact, in love with each other and plan to leave Grace and Frankie in order to start their new life together in earnest.

Despite their best efforts, Grace and Frankie are thrown together to survive this new chapter of their lives. The show is a moving portrayal of the aftermath of coming out and shows how, while a necessary and vital process, it isn’t always easy, especially for the loved ones of those involved.

If you’re looking for a feeling, funny, and lighthearted binge, all six seasons of Grace and Frankie are streaming on Netflix now.
