How did Zeke survive the Death Date – and what does it mean for everyone else?

To be fair, many of us probably weren’t that surprised that Manifest couldn’t actually go through with killing Zeke off. (Even if that might, in the end, have been a better story.)

But now that he’s officially outlived his Death Date – what does it mean?

Despite everything that happened in the season 2 finale, there was really no indication as to how or why Deke lived. He actually died, in fact, before glowing gold and suddenly coming back to life. Granted, he froze to death while trying to save Michaela’s kidnapped nephew, so there’s every chance the Callings decided to spare his life, evil enchantress-style, because he gave up his last moments to try and help someone else. But, then again, this is Manifest. It’s very probable that they’re never going to explain it at all. (Or at least any time soon – we still have no idea why Zeke or the other random 828-esque survivors disappeared and then returned again.)

However, now that one person has beaten their death date, that means there’s hope for the rest of them. But how they’ll manage to do so is anybody’s guess.
