Fashion Friday: This new Dolly x Nina “Kindness Is Queen” Collection is the collaboration we never knew we needed
The Dolly x Nina collection is all about promoting kindness — and that’s a message we could definitely use right now.
Bring on the kindness! When it comes to our Fashion Friday feature, we love to promote people and companies who are doing good things. And in a collaboration we never knew we needed, Dolly Parton and Drag Queen Nina West are giving us pieces that promote all things happiness and being kind to others. The Dolly x Nina collection might be around for a limited time, but it has big plans.
In a press release about the Dolly x Nina collection, we learned that fans of both stars could snag T-shirts, tote bags, and even an enamel pin featuring caricatures of their likeness along with the words “Kindness is Queen.” And who doesn’t need a cute tote bag or an awesome graphic T-shirt?
While snagging merchandise featuring these two queens is already pretty epic, there is more to this collaboration than just goodies we can show off. (Although, yes, we are here for the goodies.)
The Dolly x Nina Collection Supports Two Good Causes
Proceeds from this collection will be split between the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and Nina West’s Nina West Foundation. The Imagination Library helps to promote literacy by gifting free books to children across the country, while the Nina West Foundation helps support LGBTQ+ families and youth.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nina West (whose real name is Andrew Levitt), explained what inspired her to approach Dolly Parton saying, “Dolly is the ultimate queen of kindness, and I am so thrilled that she agreed to this collaboration. We both want to spread the message that ‘Kindness Is Queen,’ and that being kind is something that is desperately needed in our world right now.”
Considering there is always room for some kindness in the world, we love this collection and the idea behind it. The fact that proceeds from the collaboration also help support not one, but two good causes, is also an added bonus.
I love the design that is on the T-shirt and think it would be an awesome addition to any graphic T-shirt collection. And since it is summer, we can never have enough T-shirts (or maybe that’s just me).
You can find this limited time collection at the Kindness page of Nina West’s website. And if you really want a piece from this collaboration, now is definitely the time to make it happen.
