Sony announced the May offerings for PlayStation Plus members. This month’s two free games are much more low-key than the last few months’ offerings.

After starting the first four months of the year with excellent offerings, PlayStation Plus members are in for a much calmer May. Which is maybe a bit of a good thing. Change of pace, right?

This month’s two free games are sure to help you pass the hours as many of us wait out the current health crisis. Here are your two free games for the month of May:

  • Cities: Skylines
  • Farming Simulator 19

Check out the announcement trailer for the PlayStation Plus offerings below:

Well, neither of these games are anywhere near April’s offerings of Uncharted 4 or Dirt Rally 2.0, but they’re sure to eat up plenty of time if you’re looking to make sheltering in place/quarantine pass a little faster.

Let’s start in the city and make our way to the country.

Cities: Skylines is a city builder simulator by Paradox Interactive. Originally for the PC, it was ported to the PS4 in 2017. Fan of SimCity? Yeah, Cities: Skylines is for you.

You start with a plot of land, an interchange exit from a highway, and a set amount of money. Sit back and figure out how you want to build your city from there. Residential area? Sure! Industrial drive? Absolutely. Add in basic services like water, sewage, and power.

Watch your population grow, and as it grows, you’ll unlock even more improvements and customizations. It’s definitely much faster paced than Animal Crossing and very reminiscent of SimCity.

On the opposite end, we have Farming Simulator 19. Now, if you want a realistic farming simulator, this is perfect for you. Farming Simulator 19 adds on more from Farming Simulator 17. This includes John Deere brand vehicles and machinery, new crops, and new animals, just to name a few things.

The game also gives you the freedom to choose what direction to go: tending to crops, raising livestock, or forestry, but it can also be distracting to have so many things to do. You even have the choice to take a Sunday drive and just meander through the countryside scenery.

Reviews for the game are relatively average, as if there’s too much and not enough to do. One thing is for sure though: There’s plenty of time to figure it out right now.

Both of these titles will be available to download starting Tuesday, May 5.

dark. Next. The Last Of Us Part II gets a new release date that’s earlier than we expected

And don’t forget, if you’re a PlayStation 4 owner, you still have access to the two free games Sony’s offering until May 14: Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey.
