Sony has decided to make quarantine a little less tedious for gamers. Have a PlayStation 4? Have two free games from April 15 to May 5!

If you’re like me and in the middle of week five of quarantine, then does Sony have a great surprise in store for you!

Sony announced on April 15 the implementation of their Play At Home Initiative, as a thank you to everyone doing their part and staying home as much as possible during this pandemic.

Here’s some additional info from the Sony blog:

"“Play At Home has two components: first, providing free games to help keep the PlayStation community entertained at home; and finally, establishing a fund to help smaller independent game studios who may be experiencing financial difficulties continue building great experiences for all gamers.”"

Before you ask, yes, this is in addition to the April offerings for PlayStation Plus members. This is for anyone who owns a PS4. It’s a really cool thing for Sony to do, and creating a fund to help independent game studios is a nice addition.

So what are the two games you can download and play for free? Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey. The Nathan Drake Collection is the first three Uncharted games remastered for the PS4.

And yes, the April PS Plus offerings include Uncharted 4.

If you have never played Journey, please take this time to download it and check it out. It is an absolutely gorgeous game with hauntingly beautiful music. Originally released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3, it released to rave reviews and was nominated for plenty of awards that season.

It’s a relaxing game that will suck you in from the moment you start playing. Fans and critics still rave about it eight years later. While it is a shorter game — about two and a half hours for the main story — it will make you want to ensure you complete every aspect of it.

Uncharted, on the other hand, needs no introduction. I’ve crooned enough over this game here. Never played a Nathan Drake game? Please take this opportunity to download it and give it a try.

The first three Uncharted games take a combined average of 27 hours to complete without doing any sort of side quests. If you’re a PS Plus member, add on another 15 hours for Uncharted 4, and you’re looking at almost two solid days of gaming right there.

It’s a solid month of gaming, from the Resident Evil 3 Remake to the Final Fantasy VII remake to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. There’s almost a game for every type of gamer to keep us occupied and … relatively sane.

Next. The Last of Us II delayed indefinitely. Will this be the new trend of 2020?. dark

Right now it’s the little things that get us through every day. Sony offering two free games to PS4 owners is a pretty good little thing to enjoy.
