The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver

Josie Silver‘s The Two Lives of Lydia Bird examines love on a parallel track through Lydia and Freddie’s relationship. Having been together for over a decade, Lydia doesn’t believe anything can tear them apart — until Freddie dies in a car accident on her 28th birthday.

Lydia’s grief consumes her, but she tries to carry on because it’s what Freddie would want. With the support of her best friend Jonah and her sister Elle, Lydia sets out to reintroduce herself to the world and to keep her heart open to love … until she’s dropped into a universe where Freddie is alive and the tragic events she lived through haven’t happened.

Getting to live life with Freddie is what Lydia has wanted since she lost him, but living two lives should be impossible and returning to her past has a cost. Lydia has to choose between the love and life she wanted with Freddie, and the love she could have with someone new in the aftermath of Freddie’s death.

The Two Lives of Lydia Bird is available now in print, audio, and e-format.
