More than one familiar face is coming to The Bold Type this week, but it might be a rocky road. Here’s how you can watch the newest episode.

This is not a drill. I repeat: This is not a drill. Adena is back on The Bold Type this week.

When we last saw her, she had just accepted an offer from Jacqueline to become Scarlet’s new in-house photographer. There was a moment there when it wasn’t totally clear if that would actually happen — when the person who offers you a job subsequently gets fired, it’s not a great look — but Kat confirmed at the start of this season that Adena was secure.

And then … she didn’t show up at a single shoot. Not one. It’s especially odd, considering Scarlet is now an entirely digital publication; you’d figure most of their shoots would be in-house now. But alas, we’ve had to wait six long episodes for Adena’s return.

Tonight, it’s happening — but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be a happy reunion.

Adena seems none too pleased with Kat’s latest romantic exploits, particularly with Bartender Cody. That’ll be fun to unpack.

But hey, Adena isn’t the only familiar face on The Bold Type this week! Raven-Symoné is making her debut as Alice, “a successful beauty influencer who will be a celebrity model for a Scarlet photo spread focusing on anti-cultural appropriation.”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that’ll be a smooth interaction either. Only with this one, it’ll be Sutton who faces the awkwardness. It’s her first solo styling gig, but it seems she gets it in “fake it ’til you make it” style.

Poor Sutton. First she had to put Richard’s mother in her place, and now she has to defend her abilities to an important influencer. Stress levels are much too high.
