On this week’s Grey’s Anatomy, we might finally find out the cause of Suzanne’s symptoms, but one doctor isn’t going to walk away happy.

Nico and Levi fans, beware! The latest Grey’s Anatomy couple to face the possibility of a breakup doesn’t look like they’re going to end this week on a happy note. And that’s just one of many storylines that will plunge deeper into chaos on the show this week.

While Jackson, Owen, and Jo treat victims of a bear attack, it looks like we might finally find out what’s been making patient Suzanne so sick for so long.

Everyone’s new favorite doctor (that’s Riley, not McWidow) is back again to continue working on a difficult case. But this time she’ll be working alongside Dr. Grey instead of the resident who initially convinced her to come to Grey Sloan.

Apparently Meredith is set to take over DeLuca’s case, and he’s not going to like that very much. But that’s what he gets for lying to Dr. Riley to get her to come to Seattle. Use your ex to get leverage at work, and you’re going to get burned. Not literally, but with Grey’s, anything is possible.

The one thing we don’t know is whether or not Amelia and Link’s storyline will continue in this week’s episode. Last week left us on a major cliffhanger when Amelia decided not to do the paternity test (or did, and decided not to tell Link the results). It looks like the mystery could remain for longer than we thought.

It will be nice to see more of Jo, though we’ll likely get another quick “Alex is in Iowa” shoutout and not much more. She hinted at some tension between the two of them, but this could be a crutch to explain why he’s not getting any screen time anytime soon (or ever again).

Because her character development did rely heavily on her relationship with her husband, and she’s come pretty far in dealing with her trauma, hopefully she’ll still be able to play a key role in the series moving forward despite Alex’s absence.

Some are speculating the foster kids from last week will merge with her storyline somehow, but there’s no mention of them in the promo either. Chances are we’ll see at least one of them again, especially if they need another side storyline to balance out Suzanne’s diagnosis.

But everyone loves a good old-fashioned medical mystery. So even if there are still plenty of losse ends left out in the open, at least we might finally have one answer we’ve been waiting for.

Next. It's not Grey's Anatomy without the Grey (or the anatomy). dark
