Planters has resurrected its mascot, Mr. Peanut, in the form of Baby Nut — and sure, the little guy is cute, but he’s no Baby Yoda.

Planters’ recent marketing campaigns have taken consumers on a roller coaster ride over the past couple of weeks, with the company’s mascot being killed off and promptly resurrected — leaving most baffled in response. It all began with the company’s bizarre Twitter announcement that Mr. Peanut had perished, something they had planned to turn into a funeral during the Super Bowl but decided against after the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant.

In lieu of the initially planned funeral, Planters took a leaf out of Star Wars’ book, giving Super Bowl viewers a first look at the internet’s newest baby phenomenon: Baby Nut. It feels like cute baby versions of well-known characters have been popping up everywhere since The Mandalorian’s Baby Yoda became a hit. Unfortunately, none of them — including poor Baby Nut — holds a candle to our favorite little green Force wielder.

All right, we’ll begrudgingly admit that the little guy is cute — and charming in his own way. Still, he’s nothing compared to Baby Yoda. And it’s likely that the company was trying to jump on the bandwagon, hoping the internet would follow suit and give this little guy the same amount of attention Baby Yoda has seen as of late.

But even if Baby Nut isn’t going to become the phenomenon Baby Yoda is, it seems Planters did something right with its campaign. Between Mr. Peanut’s sudden death and the birth of Baby Nut, more people have been talking about the company — and that’s the whole point of ideas like this, isn’t it?
