10 New Amsterdam episodes to help get us through this hiatus

With New Amsterdam currently on hiatus, fans have time to rewatch their favorite episodes from the series — and we know which ones we’re recommending.
It’s a not so happy time, Dam Fam. This week marked our first New Amsterdam-less Tuesday. We have six more to go before our show returns, so go ahead and uncap that bright red Sharpie of yours and mark off the date. The countdown is real, but the hiatus blues are realer.
“The Island” left us teetering on the edge of a cliff, suspended in the unknown of Helen being stripped of her titles and the hospital being locked down. On tenterhooks is too tame of a phrase to describe how I am feeling right now. I feel like a delicately crafted object askew on a desk just waiting for a child to come by and bump me just enough to make me fall.
Emotionally, this feels like the three-week gap between “King of Swords” and “Sanctuary,” but instead of being a ball of squee and uncertainty over #sharpwin, I am a bubbling over pot of indignation on behalf of Helen and a worried nail biter over Max. And the promo for January 14’s episode is not helping matters!

January is on the other side of that New Year’s Eve ball drop, which is five weeks away, and we still have to wait two weeks after that to get to New Amsterdam Tuesday.
Granted, that is not enough time for this hiatus to turn into a hellatus, but that doesn’t mean the wait isn’t going to feel like the longest mile. But don’t worry, I’ve come prepared with the fuel that will keep us going: Ten New Amsterdam episodes to keep us hydrated and fed as we wait for January 14 to roll around.
