“Pilot” (written by David Schulner, directed by Kate Dennis)

Let’s start by taking it way back to our first day on the job with Max.

We jogged right into New Amsterdam Medical Center knowing there was a plan and the plan was to help people by any means necessary. If that means firing a whole department to ensure patients get the care they need not the care that lines a surgeon’s pockets then so be it. If it means doing away with the waiting room, opening a farmer’s market in the atrium, and caring for a patient as a human being and not a doctor then so be it.

“How can I help?” was and still is the key to success in New Amsterdam. Max laid the blueprint and Bloom, Iggy, Helen, Reynolds, and Vijay took up the plans. It’s patients first always, the rest is a concern, but it’s not as important.
