The Good Place always enjoys putting itself in a tight spot and then bucking all expectations six minutes into the next episode.
Last week’s episode was more of that trend. The Janets have united in favor of the Soul Squad and are playing a deadly game of keep-away with Judge Gen. Which gives our team 45 minutes or so to come up with a brand new system for judging humans.
And they’re leaving it up to Chidi. Everything is fine!

The sad yet unsurprising news is that this is the show’s midseason finale. The Good Place has yet to take a break since premiering, and with Thanksgiving being next Thursday, it was bound to happen.
Plus it always seems to take the winter off. This leaves four episodes left and the series finale is already slated for Thursday, January 29th.
So will Chidi be able to save the entirety of humanity from extinction? Who knows!
But by the promo photos that have been released, there’s either a great party with plenty of shrimp for Eleanor, or we have some fun flashbacks to the various reboots of Chidi’s life in the Good Place
In the end, it won’t really matter, as long as The Good Place delivers. And my bet is that it will be yet another cliffhanger we won’t have an answer for until after Christmas. Buckle up!
