The Good Place brings everyone together in the Judge’s chamber to reveal the results of the experiment and to give her final ruling on the point system

The Good Place leaves everything in Judge Gen’s hands as the season-long human experiment comes to an end. How will the Soul Squad measure up?

Not-So-Short Summary & Analysis

The humans aren’t allowed to see the test numbers, so Michael leaves Eleanor with a bottle of tequila. Janet starts to tell them about their own funerals (Moby spoke first at Tahani’s. Jason’s friends graffiti’d a Red Lobster about him) when they decide to have funerals for themselves after all their lives.

Tahani’s is on a fancy jet. Jason’s is at a pool (where he was born). Janet doesn’t need a funeral because she’s been taught so much from them already. And Eleanor’s is also at the pool, making Tahani wear sweatpants for the first time.

In the Judge’s chambers, we have everyone gathered together—Bad place, good place, and Michael.

Who got better? Everyone got better, except for Brent, who got -1% better. The evidence isn’t overwhelming. “Are you gonna sit there and say that every one of the Friends deserves to be in hell?” Michael tries to argue.

And then he brings up everyone the Cockroaches helped on Earth. Every one of their family members got better—and then the Judge sees Brent’s last second uptick.

The Judge rules with Michael. Human’s aren’t fixed at one level of morality—they can always get better. The point system isn’t good enough anymore.

How do we handle this moving forward? Obviously, Earth is canceled. We’ll start the human race over and go from there!

Why can’t they just tweak the point system? But the planet is too complicated to warrant just tweaking a few things.

Janet steals the world-ending clicker, and then Bad Janet steals it from her in her triumphant return. And she’s on their side! All the Janets are on their side! Disco Janet even makes an appearance!

While the Janets stall her from ending the world, Michael comes up with the idea of creating a new way to use the points.

Chidi, the most indecisive man in the world, is their only hope.

Favorite Moments & Lines

“If you don’t like this funeral, juuuust wait a minute!” Jason explains about Jacksonville funerals.

Jason’s song that he wrote for Eleanor is just epic and I need it on YouTube immediately.

Why is Chidi so jacked? When he was fourteen, someone told him exercising relieved stress and he basically never stopped. Things I never knew I needed to know.

The Good Place: A theory on how the show will end. dark. Next

Don’t worry, this week’s episode of The Good Place is still brand new (though I assume they’ll break after that because it’s Thanksgiving next week). Which means we don’t have to wait too long for Chidi to be back into the fold with the group.
