Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 is just as chaotic as you might expect. Meredith Grey has been fired from Grey Sloan Memorial, along with Richard and Alex. Maggie and Jackson are no more. And now that Miranda Bailey is back in charge, things are looking … terrible. Terrible is probably the kindest word that could describe it.

The further we get into this season of Grey’s Anatomy, the harder it gets to believe there is still going to be anyone left to perform surgeries at Grey Sloan by the time the finale rolls around.

At first, it seemed like Miranda Bailey was finally getting her “groove” back. She got a pep talk. She was pumped. She was ready to take back control of “her” department.

Then “going to fix everything” Bailey became “going to fire anyone who speaks to me” Bailey, and well, it was nice knowing you Qadri.

Based on what we’ve seen from this week’s promo, “It’s Raining Men” just might end with the loss of yet another surgeon. Or multiple, if Meredith setting foot in the hospital sends the chief of surgery on a firing spree.

Technically everyone who has been fired so far has done something that could justify the action. In Qadri’s case, being upset about Meredith Grey probably wasn’t worth talking to the boss like that. But sending her packing without so much as a warning was definitely a little harsh.

Bailey left her job as chief not all that long ago — temporarily — because she couldn’t, or didn’t want to, handle all the stress that comes with the job.

It’s not at all surprising that she’s back and still not handling it well. At all.

If you’re not already keeping track of how many doctors are getting fired this season, you should probably start counting now.
