25. Scar

Sometimes we forget that animated movies can have pretty awful villains. And while we don’t often think of Disney for the greatest movie villains of all time, we may want to reconsider this. Especially if one of those villains happens to be Scar from The Lion King.

In fact, looking at Scar, and his actions, you clearly see a character with very little remorse over his actions. Not only did he essentially kill his own brother, but he set up his nephew to take the fall for his father’s death. Talk about not being a warm and cuddly character!

But it was not just the fact that he killed his brother and set up his nephew. He also psychologically abused multiple characters, including his nephew. If it wasn’t for Scar, Simba would never have thought he killed his father. And of course, the things he did to his own Pride and even the hyenas, clearly show a lack of compassion, empathy, or basically anything that makes one a more stable individual.

It would be wrong not to include Scar in a list of the greatest movie villains, because his actions destroyed not just his own family, but an entire land and ecosystem. That’s pretty awful if you ask me, and definitely makes him a contender for one of the worst bad guys to ever grace our screens. (And let’s not forget that in the live-action Lion King remake, Scar was just as bad as ever and even looked extra sinister.)
