11. Chucky

There are some characters that have graced our screens that might seem innocent and then suddenly the blinders are off and we are faced with a villain that is easily entrenched in our nightmares. For me, that villain has to be Chucky.

Chucky is a child’s doll with a murderous streak that makes you wish you never liked dolls to begin with. And the fact that his catchphrase makes him seem innocent, but is ultimately terrifying in its own way certainly doesn’t help.

Never has there been a character that makes me want to “nope” my way out of a movie more than Chucky. Considering the Chucky doll is possessed by the evil spirit of Charles Lee Ray, a serial killer, it makes sense that this doll is far from innocent. In fact, we are looking at a psychopath who has no problem killing indiscriminately, while also setting out to place the blame on a truly innocent child.

To add to the horror that is Chucky, we are talking about a face that can start out sweet and welcoming and shift almost without blinking into something cruel and twisted. And let’s not forget the fact that the doll is not limited to his sweet catchphrase and asking children if they want to play. Instead, here is a doll that can not only curse, but also has the ability to terrorize anyone in his path.
