10. Argus Filch vs. the Weasley twins

Book or movie? This was a rivalry mostly in the movies, but it did crop up in the books.

Brief description of the rivalry: The Weasley twins had a habit of causing trouble. They would love to get up to mischief. Naturally, that caused problems for the caretaker, Argus Filch.

Did it remain a rivalry? Oh, did it ever! Although, let’s be honest, the rivalry was one that would be forgotten about—only brought up with the names Fred and George were mentioned to Filch in the future.

And let’s be honest, it’s not like Filch liked any of the students in the school. He was one grumpy squib.

Why it’s one of the greatest: Sometimes, you just need a rivalry that’s a lot of fun. You want something that’s there just for comedic relief, and that’s exactly what this rivalry offered throughout the Harry Potter movies. Who didn’t love to see what the Weasley twins would be up to next, or what Filch would find next.

This was also a great way to write in the mischievous rivalry that will come up next on the list since a certain ghost wasn’t mentioned in the movies.
