The Good Place returns for its final season at 9pm EST tonight. Can our four humans, one saved demon, and a not-robot beat the Bad Place?

Brace yourselves, my little chili babies, because we’re entering the end of The Good Place. The fate of everyone’s souls rests in the hands of Eleanor, Michael, Tahani, Jason, and Janet.

And I suppose Chidi is still in that mix as well. The only issue with him is that he doesn’t know he’s part of an experiment. Or that he has a history with everyone running The Good Place.

In case you missed it, the official synopsis for this week’s episode is:

"With Eleanor assuming the role of the architect, the group adapts to the challenges facing them when four test subjects inhabit a new neighborhood under their supervision."

You know nothing will ever be as simple as it seems. It never has been with The Good Place, and I doubt this fourth and final season will be any different.

Which means we need to mentally prepare ourselves for all of the emotional heartbreak we’re about to endure in this last season.

Do we really think the ending will be as simple as who wins this last experiment? Every season has upended our expectations. Season two we thought would be the second attempt at the experiment until the finale, but no. It flew through 800-odd resets in a single episode and took us down a completely different path.

The Good Place’s fourth season will probably follow suit. Or not. Whatever will keep us guessing until the final credits roll.
