Follow the butterflies

Veering away from Ron’s heroic moments, let’s talk about something that makes the youngest Weasley brother run screaming in the opposite direction: spiders. And hey, we can totally relate to Ron’s paralyzing fear of the eight-legged creatures. Just imagine having to follow hundreds of them into the Forbidden Forest, where larger, human-sized ones are waiting for you. That’s a big no from us.

But Ron accompanies Harry on his adventure into the Forbidden Forest despite his phobia because it’s the only way to clear Hagrid’s name, save Hermione, and prevent the heir of Slytherin from attacking more students. We’ve got to give him kudos for that. It’s braver than what most people his age would be willing to do in the face of their biggest fears.

And of course, we’ll be laughing while we rewatch this moment as well. “Why spiders?” Ron asks Harry as the spiders lead them into the Forbidden Forest. “Why couldn’t it be follow the butterflies?”  If we’re keeping track of Ron’s funniest lines, that’s another one for the books. In fact, it’s right up there with that nightmare he has during the fourth film — you know, the one where the spiders want him to tap dance.
