The Mister Rogers movie trailer has arrived and we’re all crying
The trailer for the Mister Rogers film starring Tom Hanks is finally here and it will definitely make you cry. Check out all the details here!
The trailer for A Beautiful Day is the Neighborhood, the Mister Rogers film starring Tom Hanks, is here and if you’ve seen it and not shed at least one tear, do you even have a heart?? The man who was there for most of our childhoods and taught us about kindness and how to be a good friend is finally getting the tribute he deserves.
Tom Junod, a journalist from Esquire, interviewed Fred Rogers in 1998 and that’s the time period covered in the film. The Americans’ Matthew Rhys will play a fictionalized version of the reporter who followed around the famous man as he lived his life.
And could anyone be more perfect for the role of everyone’s TV best friend than Tom Hanks, one of the most trusted and beloved figures in Hollywood? There could be no one better which is made pretty clear by the fact that the resemblance between the two men is uncanny!
The trailer goes on to show how Fred Rogers and Junod form a real friendship and how Rogers has a positive impact on the journalist’s life. Through Junod, we get to feel everything Mister Rogers meant to us.
One of the most poignant moments in the trailer is when Rhys’s character says “you like broken people. Like me.” Mister Rogers was there to accept everyone and if the trailer is any indication of what the movie will be, it will show that aspect of his personality perfectly.
The best scene, and the one that probably made you sob uncontrollably, is at the very end where a group of kids on the subway sing “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” to Mister Rogers himself.
