Swamp Thing season 1 episode 4 live stream: Watch online

While the tension rises on Swamp Thing episode 4, the Rot isn’t done rotting. However, it’s clear this week’s theme is darkness, coupled with some background on another notable character.

Any DC Universe production knows its brand, and it’s a dark brand at that. Though not nearly as dark as all the cartoons and other live actions jab at, there’s a lot of tragedy admit the most wholesome moments of the streaming platform. None are much more devastating than the untimely cancellation of Swamp Thing. Moving on though because this week, Swamp Thing is going to be even darker — literally and figuratively. (After all, what’s a horror-filled saga without some nighttime mayhem?)

Unlike certain series that make it difficult to see anything during dimly lit scenes, you won’t have a probably keeping track of the action on “Darkness on the Edge of Town.” But seriously, darkness is literally in the title of the episode. At least we know to expect a lot of ominous drama.

According to the Warner Bros. Television Division’s synopsis, this week’s episode will unearth even more of Marais’ town-wide drama:

"While Swamp Thing senses a growing darkness within the swamp, Abby’s return dredges up her dark history with the Sunderlands. We learn more about the mysterious Dan Cassidy."

To sum up all the excitement in the town:

• The Sunderlands (more specifically Avery) brought the Rot to the town.
• Then, almost simultaneously, the Rot attracted pre-Alec Holland Swamp Thing to Marais to intervene and find ecological balance for the Green’s sake.
• But now Swamp Thing has a learning curve now that he’s sorting through his memory as an Elemental while navigating the throes of humanity from Alec’s side of the dynamic.
• Liz knows the Sunderlands are shady, which honestly just builds more reason why people should listen to her.
• And of course, Abby is still trying to figure out the source and cure for the botanical-based virus, along with what the heck happened to Alec and now the cause of the Rot.

While this week’s episode will obviously delve deeper into the Rot and how the Rot impacts the Green, we’ll get more insight on Danny (Dan Cassidy). Along with Blue Devil’s potential original story on the horizon, we’ll witness even more of the canon magic of the swamp.

Given that the series is taken on a lot of influences from the New 52, we can expect a similar backstory on Dan’s behalf. However, we’re just waiting to see if Swamp Thing and Blue Devil will team up against the Rot in the coming episodes.
