Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD finally reunites FitzSimmons, but it’s never that simple. Will they be able to survive what the Chronicoms have in store?

We do love some great personal drama on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, don’t we? Especially when it comes to Fitz and Simmons, because this show is never done with torturing them.

Tonight’s episode seems like it’s going to be more of the same, just to an even more intense degree. Hallucinations of personal demons are a great addition to any relationship! …Is my sarcasm showing yet?

In case you missed it, the official synopsis for this week’s episode:

"They’ve fought through space, time and alternate realities to find each other, and now, closer than ever, only their own demons can stop FitzSimmons’ reunion."

It just doesn’t bode well for our favorite star-crossed couple. But it does, in fact, make sense. They still haven’t really had a chance to talk through the whole Framework issue and everything that happened then.

Nope, they were kind of just hurtled into future space and didn’t have time to process it all. And that was two seasons ago. Now we’re dealing with a Simmons who has been to the future, seen the wrecked world, and is back trying to find her future husband who doesn’t even know they’re married.

Because we have a pre-future/frozen Fitz running around. One who’s fresh out of the Framework. One who doesn’t know the world was wrecked once and then saved and now we’re somewhere in between. He’s probably not ready to handle everything Simmons needs to throw at him to catch him up to speed.
