An interview is circulating around the web featuring Tom Holland’s response to the possibility of all three Spider-Man actors teaming up. His response is suspicious, to say the least.
There’s no need to debate who was the best Spider-Man of all time. We love all three of the live-action Spider-Man actors, and many fans have been clamoring for the three of them to get together in one film.
Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland all brought a certain charm to the role, and now an interview with Holland has us hopeful that this get together may come to pass.
The interview surfaced on Reddit, with fans pointing out how just how odd Holland’s response is when he’s asked about a Spider-Man crossover. We’re no body language experts, but we’ve seen plenty of Marvel interviews before. And when the actors suddenly get really tight-lipped in their response, that’s when we know something’s up. Take a look for yourself in the clip below.
Redditors also pointed out that Zendaya has a “don’t say anything” look to her face. We know during Avengers: Infinity War that Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch was good at helping Holland not reveal spoilers during interviews. But this time, it looks like that’s Zendaya’s job. Jacob Batalon’s reaction is also interesting, as he straight up laughs at the fact that Holland says absolutely nothing.
Holland immediately changed the subject, but he eventually gave an honest answer to the question:
"It’d be amazing. It’d be really, really cool. And it’s something that the fans really want. So whether Marvel and Sony decide to do that, it’s up to them… but it would be really awesome."
That answer’s a smooth save by Holland indeed, but we won’t deny that his initial reaction has us thinking an all-Spidey reunion could happen. Thanks to Mysterio, we know that Peter Parker is living in a multiverse, with his Earth being one of many. But last year’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse already established that there are multiple Spider-people throughout the different dimensions.
The Spider-Man reunion could happen in a live action movie, but Into the Spider-Verse 2 may be another way to bring Maguire, Garfield, and Holland together. The first movie brought the likes of Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Peni Parker together — plus Peter Parker and the hilarious Peter B. Parker. What’s to say Miles Morales can’t encounter three more Peter Parkers? (Though we’re sure he’d be pretty overwhelmed at that point.)
Then again, the crossover could happen in a live action movie, but there’s really no precedence for such an event happening as of now. Sony and Marvel Studios have their own storylines to deal with, and having a scene with all three Spider-Man actors together would just seem forced and crammed into the plot of the movie for no reason. (See: the A-Force scene in Avengers: Endgame.)
If a Spider-Man crossover does happen, we hope that it’ll be done just right. How would you like to see the actors come together? Let us know in the comments.
