When it comes to politics, we often think of older white men running the show. But in the last few years, there has been a major shift in the political landscape. And one of those shifts comes courtesy of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The Democratic Congressional Representative for New York won her seat in a surprising upset in 2018. And since then, she has been shaking cages, making noise, and doing everything in her power to actually make a difference in the world.

From her Green New Deal, which is an effort to save the planet, to her efforts to reform the education system, Ocasio-Cortez, who is often referred to by her initials AOC, is striving to make an impact with her political power.

Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of Ocasio-Cortez is the fact that she has no problem speaking up no matter what the issue is, and she is just as open and honest as she was before she was elected to office. Whether she is on social media, speaking to the press, or taking part in a meeting of Congress, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez always has her constituents’ best interests at heart.

Not only is she actually helping to make a change in our country, but she is doing so in a way that is an inspiration to everyone. She is proof that it doesn’t matter how old you are, you can make a change in the world and in your own neighborhood. And considering she only took office in January of 2019, she is clearly not resting on her laurels when it comes to making a difference.
