Kat’s campaign is over, Jane’s exposé is out, and Sutton has proven she can thrive as a designer. But there’s still a few loose ends to tie up this season.

Last week’s episode of The Bold Type could easily have stood as a season finale. It would have been a shocking one, but then again, aren’t all season finales?

Let’s recap: Kat lost the election, Jane and Jacqueline relinquished their exposé on Pamela Dolan to the digital portion of the magazine, Jane subsequently found out that Ryan kissed another girl, and Sutton found out that Richard passed on his dream job because it’s in San Francisco.

It all feels very final, and yet, there’s still a lot to unpack in this week’s finale. Here’s how Freeform’s official synopsis lays it all out:

"When Jane and Jacqueline’s exposé makes an impact, Jacqueline takes a hard look at how she can make Scarlet an industry leader that practices what it preaches. Sutton celebrates the end of her design seminar with a fashion show but surprises herself with the results. Jane deals with an emotional fallout amidst a career high. Kat makes a choice not to run from her problems anymore."

Could Sutton’s surprise ending be a move to San Francisco with Richard? It would be romantic, but neither Jane nor Kat nor the fans have signed off on separating the OT3. It’s unlikely that Sutton will just let Richard’s decision go without a discussion.

Meanwhile, Kat’s choice is about more than just her political problems. Adena has made it very clear that she wants to be back in Kat’s life, and Tia likely isn’t just walking away. It’s going to be a pivotal night for Kadena shippers.

As for Janestripe shippers, things are looking bleak. To Ryan’s credit, he was honest about what happened. But that doesn’t mean Jane has to or will forgive him. Now that the Dolan piece has published, she has an easy distraction to fall back on, too.
