Skull Island: Reign of Kong

Venture to an island that most people tend to avoid and where no one really knows what goes on. Skull Island is home to one of the most notorious creatures in the world: King Kong. Guests are invited to tour the island with a knowledgable guide.

As you walk through the queue, you’ll be warned not to go any further, but (of course) you’ll keep going. You’ll hear stories about the island and what it holds. You’ll go through temples and hidden passage ways as you make your way through to the safari trucks that will take you to the island.

Once on the truck, you’ll want to hold on. The ride does get a little bumpy. You’ll travel around the outside of the island, then into a dark jungle cave where things get a little more intense. Guests will see all types of prehistoric predators and creatures that need to be fought off before continuing.

Around the corner, he’s there. The king of the jungle, Kong. He towers over your truck and is very intimidating. That’s when you realize there’s a reason no one goes to this island. Once you get off your truck, you’ll go through a detector to make sure all of the 3D glasses worn by your truck are turned in. Universal is very serious about these glasses, so be sure to turn them into the Team Members. They will not let you out of the exit queue until everyone in the group has turned them in.

Skull Island: Reign of Kong is intense and has some scary moments. If you’re traveling with kids, this ride might not be the best for them. The ride does offer rider swap for those who do not want to ride.
