The Handmaid’s Tale season 3 premiere: How to watch online

Fittingly, June and the world of Gilead are returning in the middle of June. Here’s how to watch the first episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale season 3.

Now that most shows are off the air for the summer, Hulu is moving in to take up some of your precious screentime with The Handmaid’s Tale season 3. The first three episodes are dropping today, revealing what’s next after June’s fateful decision to stay in Gilead and send her daughter Nichole north to Canada without her.

Of course, this story is about more than June, although she’s the titular Handmaid. Gilead has cracks showing everywhere, even at the top with Serena Joy and Fred Waterford.

That’s what “Night,” the first episode of season 3, is apparently about, per Hulu:

"June embarks on a bold mission with unexpected consequences. Emily and Nichole make a harrowing journey. The Waterfords reckon with Serena Joy’s choice to send Nichole away."

Of course the Waterfords would spell Nichole’s name with an H. No shade intended to the Nicholes of the world out there; this is more a knock on the Waterfords rather than the baby or her name.

Pay attention to the fact that Emily and Nichole are also mentioned here. The second season of Handmaid’s did some work to expand the world and show Canada more thoroughly; here’s hoping season 3 improves upon that.

To reveal the synopses of the second and third episodes might constitute a spoiler, but we can tell you safely that their names are “Mary and Martha,” then “Useful,” in that order. That’s only slightly spoiled, then, right? That’s what we’re going with.

Here’s how to watch these episodes:

"Date: Wednesday, June 5Episodes: “Night,” “Mary and Martha,” “Useful”TV Channel: HuluLive Stream: Hulu offers a seven-day trial."
