Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan has really been blowing up over the last few years. He went from a child actor to a wildly popular YouTuber to a singer, who then went on to appear in an Oscar-nominated movie, Boy Erased, and whose song for the same movie received a Golden Globe nomination and was shortlisted for an Academy Award nomination. Doing all of that is spectacular enough, but doing it by 23 and while being openly gay makes it even more important.

His songs may not be big bangers, but they’ll definitely get people moving, and there are plenty that would be perfect to get you in the mood for Pride. You can go for some tracks from his first album Blue Neighborhood, like “Youth” or “Wild.” If you want to get a little emotional, there’s the LGBTQIA+ anthem “Heaven” featuring Betty Who, which is about Sivan’s struggle with his sexuality. There are some chill bops that will get you dancing like “My My My” and “Dance To This” featuring Ariana Grande from last year’s Bloom.

One song that you will definitely hear a lot this Pride season is his collab with Lauv, “i’m so tired…” The song is about, well, being tired of hearing love songs everywhere you go, especially when you’re heart broken. There might be some Pride parties this season where you just want to go home, but then you’ll hear this song come on and maybe feel a little better about your feelings so you can go and meet some new people!
