Style Diaries: How to dress like Tessa Thompson

Casual looks inspired by our favorite celebrities can sometimes be hard to come by, as we often see them at their very best on red carpets and doing press events. But thanks to social media, we can sometimes see a more dressed down side to actresses and singers.
And thanks to Tessa Thompson’s Instagram, we have a chance to see some of her more casual looks, including this graphic tee and leather pants look. While leather pants can easily be dressed up or down, with this look it is all a bout the color, which lets this entire look pop in the best possible ways.
Considering how easy it is to find graphic t-shirts, I chose not to find any particular option. However, if you are looking for something cute or sassy, I highly recommend Tee Turtle or Shirt Woot, as you can easily snag the perfect shirt for your own style at an affordable. Considering the most expensive graphic t-shirt is around the $25 mark, you never have to worry about overspending (although I have definitely gone overboard at both sites).
For the red leather pants, the first option is a coated denim that gives the look of leather without actually being made of the material. These cropped red pants have the wow factor, and while they run $198 at a regular price (and are on sale for $90 as of this writing), these are the kind of statement piece that will steal the show no matter when you wear them.
Another option comes from Good American, and it also features coated denim for a leather look. This time, the pants have a darker red tone while still being a skinny jean with a high-rise. These pants come in at $179 (on sale for $125.90 as of this writing), which is still a bit higher in the budget, but still worth the splurge if you are looking to add a real pop of color and style to your closet.
