When it comes to women’s suits with skirts, we rarely see the skirt being long, which is what makes this particular outfit stand out. While Tessa Thompson rocked this business ready look for the Sundance Film Festival, we could totally see someone wearing something like this for a day at the office.

Although the fit of this skirt is not as easy to find off the rack, that doesn’t mean there are not plenty of longer skirt suits out there. In fact, we opted for one that has a very elegant look to it, while also featuring a blazer that has a bit of flirty, flair.

At Dillard’s I found the Preston & York Crepe Suiting Julie Jacket & Taylor Pencil Skirt. This suit is broken down into two pieces that actually allows you to mix and match the look. Unlike the suit that Thompson is wearing, this one is a solid white.

The Julie jacket, which comes in at $99, features a ruffled collar area for a flirty, but elegant feel. And for the Taylor skirt, we get a fitted, pencil skirt that falls below the knee, and it costs just $59. Much like the inspiration look, the skirt for this suit has longer lines, which is exactly what we were going for.

Honestly, this look is business-ready on all levels, but it is even perfect for other formal occasions as well. The fact that you can easily wear these pieces separately makes them the perfect addition to any wardrobe.
