Doom Patrol season finale live stream: Watch online
The season finale of Doom Patrol, “Ezekiel Patrol,” pits the team against Mr. Nobody, but it takes an unexpected antagonist to bring the team back together once more.
RIP our Friday entertainment. All good things have to come to an end, and episode 15, “Ezekiel Patrol” marks the end of the inaugural season of Doom Patrol. It’s going to be tough waiting for Doom Patrol season 2 after this finale. And, you can’t blame us for being dramatic when Nobody stepped up his villainy because he got dumped. With “Ezekiel Patrol” on its way, a lot happens, and as usual, it’s completely unexpected.
Can we just take a moment to commemorate all the comic book accuracy in the first season? Seriously, from all of Jane’s alters to the posters in the Underground that literally leaped from the comic panels, the Underground episode alone was the perfect homage to Jane and her all her comic counterparts.
We’re biased, but that moment with Black Annis threatening Cliff was perfection. And that’s not just because she’s a misandrist that we look up to, but she did help Cliff appreciate himself, including his tinman shell.
Throughout the titular team’s 15-episode-long adventure, they were brought closer together for the sake of saving Cliff, who also happened to kickstart all their accidents that made them metahumans. Along the way, they’ve met Flex Mentallo fresh out of the Ant-Farm (and the comic panels), a sentient, teleporting genderqueer street (i.e. Danny, or more formally Danny the Street), and a now reformed villain who had a questionable diet (Beard Hunter, who no longer hunts beards now).
Their journeys have brought them closer together as a team and family. However, everything comes to an end, and the team isn’t really a team anymore.
According to the Warner Bros. Television’s synopsis of the season finale of Doom Patrol, the team breaks up. Don’t worry though: A supervillain brings them back together:
"In the wake of the Chief’s revelation, the Doom Patrol go their separate ways in the season finale. But when Mr. Nobody hatches a new plan, the team must reunite to help the Chief with a new unexpected (and weird) threat to the world."
Considering the title of the season finale and the unexpected and equally weird threat that reunites the team, we’re wagger to guess it’s Ezekiel the end-of-the-world-loving cockroach, and the Decreator’s biggest (in spirit) fan.
We still just don’t believe the Doom Patrol actually disbanded… but it’s just more of a reason to fuel our long-standing disdain toward the Chief. At the very least, now all our Niles Caulder hatred at the start of the season has officially been validated.
