Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger preview: One step further

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger rushes toward its season 2 finale. But before we get there, Tandy and Tyrone need to coordinate their plan of attack.

We’ve made it to the penultimate episode of Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger here in its second season. And it’s been a heck of a ride. Every episode feels like it’s been an emotional roller coaster, weaving plots in and out and tying everything together.

Cloak and Dagger really seemed to find its footing.

So it hurts a little that last week’s episode ended with everyone seeming to take two steps backwards in their character development. Namely—Tandy’s mother and its effect on Tandy. You can bet that fallout will hurt.

Here is the official synopsis for this week’s episode, “Blue Note,” courtesy of Freeform:

"Tyrone and Tandy turn to questionable allies in their attempt to find and stop the villain behind the trafficking ring. Meanwhile, Tandy learns more about Lia’s past."

I mean… Lia looked very dead last episode on the side of the road, but it’s also possible that Andre just kind of shoved her out of the car because he doesn’t need her anymore and she’s just unconscious after reliving some horrible memories.

Questionable allies must be Mayhem since, you know, Tyrone’s mom straight-up killed Connors. I’m still not quite sure where that thread is leading, but we’ll see what happens in these next two episodes. I’m still trying to digest that whole plot.

Tandy will want revenge and justice for everyone ever affected by the trafficking ring. And with her mother’s relapse and everything she just went through—both in the ring itself and in the Darkforce dimension—there’s this curious feeling that she’ll stop at nothing until the job is done.

And what now of Evita? How will her actions from last episode affect her going forward? Her relationship with Tyrone? Does she lean fully into the voodoo life of Auntie Chantelle or can she strike some sort of healthy balance?

Cloak and Dagger still has plenty of hanging threads to connect in these last two episodes. Will they be able to make it work? Or will they stumble along the way?
