4. Dr. Sivana

Shazam may be the newest of the DCEU movies, but it proved that the cinematic universe is on the right path. And to help the movie get there, we were introduced to Dr. Sivana. Sivana was the antithesis of Shazam.

Here was a bad guy, who basically started his life of villainy as a child after being rejected by the wizard who eventually gave Billy Batson the powers he needed to become Shazam. Of curse, the reason Dr. Sivana was rejected by the wizard was because he was easily swayed by the power that the Seven Deadly Sins had. And then when he finally got the chance to get his hands on the power, he ended up being the champion for the Seven Deadly Sins.

Dr. Sivana is truly villainous just from his desire to champion evil, even as a young boy. But then when he gets his hands on the power, he turns around and murders his own brother by throwing him out of an office window in a high-rise. Plus, he lets the Seven Deadly Sins murder all of the members of the board running the family business. And that’s not all, as he ultimately lets his wheelchair-bound father be torn apart by one of the sins.

When it comes to Shazam, Dr. Sivana wants all of the hero’s powers and will do whatever it takes to get his hands on it. This includes kidnapping Billy’s foster-brother Freddy, and holding his other foster siblings hostage.

Dr. Sivana’s entire goal is the pursuit of power and magic. That alone makes him a truly villainous individual, because his desire is for the power and nothing else. He doesn’t even have a good reason for why he wants all of the magic. Instead, it is all about getting the power and destroying everyone in his way.
