Is this new Spider-Man: Far From Home clip Mysterio’s first appearance in the movie?
There’s a new Spider-Man: Far From Home clip, and we think it reveals the first time Peter Parker meets Mysterio. Things will get very interesting from there.
We relate a lot to the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Beyond being a clutz, accidentally, thwipping about town, and revealing his heroic alter ego to his bestie (our personal hero alter is that we sit on a sofa for a really long time), we can relate to a lot of Peter Parker’s onscreen struggles, triumphs, and just him personally.
But like many of us, he just wants a dang vacation. We already know that he won’t exactly get the vacay he’d hoped for on his class trip to Europe. However, this new Spider-Man: Far From Home clip could suggest that this is where we first meet Mysterio in the film. (And that Mysterio is double-crossing Spidey, but we should already expect that by now.)
The latest Spider-Man: Far From Home clip opens to Peter trying to hop away from Hydro-Man, who suddenly emerges from a waterway (his name clearly isn’t imaginative). Before Hydro-Man lands another hit… er, splash, at Peter, Mysterio flies in and stuns Hydro-Man. Judging by Peter’s shocked expression, we’d say this is the first time that he meets both Mysterio and Hydro-Man. Not only is this Peter’s first encounter with an Elemental and an apparent “hero” from another universe, but this is probably the Spiderling’s first of many hoaxes in the movie.
Anyone else suspicious of how Mysterio just conveniently knew that the overgrown aquatic Elemental was in the city, swooped in, and just as smoothly saved the day? Because it looks like a very public setting for heroics — and an even more overt place to display his deceptive heroism in front of a well-known hero.
That’s right: We’re saying that Mysterio is a fraud and this clip is probably the moment the villain, who’s disguised as a hero for publicity, earns Peter’s trust. In fact, he either purposely brought the Elementals from his Earth or he conjured them up in a very elaborate illusion. Clearly, dear Fish Bowl over here is the epidemy of extra on any Earth in the multiverse.
We’re not looking forward to seeing Mysterio use his illusions to deceive Spider-Man just for his weird obsession with his public appearance. Especially since Peter hasn’t gotten the opportunity to properly grieve everything that happened in Infinity War and Endgame; we already know this movie is going to break us. Judging by this new clip from Spider-Man: Far From Home, we can tell this will be the start of a new type of emotional pain.
