20 DC villains ranked by their dateability
18. Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin
There is something so captivating about Oswald Cobblepot, who is also known as the Penguin of Gotham. On the show, his character is equal parts charming and villainous. And we believe that charm is something that can go a long way when it comes to romance and dating.
Listen, don’t get me wrong being a villain is not the best thing when it comes to a relationship, but we have seen Oswald put aside his differences with people in order to work towards a common goal. And isn’t any relationship about being willing to work with your partner, even when you don’t always agree with each other?
He might not be a hero, but Oswald has his moments where he is rational, analytical, and well-versed in whatever topic he is discussing. And these are three qualities that we tend to find attractive in a potential partner.
Any time you can have an intelligent conversation with someone, you know you have found a hidden treasure. And there is something about Oswald Cobblepot that makes us want to sit down and have a chat with him.
Plus, we can’t forget his generosity (as show in the video above) when it comes to giving gifts. After all, we don’t think a generous nature and the ability to gift what someone needs is a bad thing at all. In fact, those are actually quite positive traits.
Oswald may be The Penguin, but he has dateability potential, as long as he isn’t trying to take down Batman.
17. Lex Luthor
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice had its problems. We all know that, but there is something about Lex Luthor that makes him stand out from the crowd. Not only is he confident, but there is an awkwardness about him that in many ways can be an endearing quality.
When it comes to dating, awkward is expected, especially on a first date (and not surprising in one or both of the people on the date). Seeing a confident businessman like Lex dealing with an awkward phase is something we could not resist. It also helps that he is the kind of person who dedicates themselves to a cause, even if that cause is the destruction of Superman.
Listen, no one is perfect. We have to overlook some of these character faults. But having a man with a single-minded focus is not a bad thing. In fact, we can totally appreciate being the sole focus of someone we are dating. When they have confidence and the ability to prove their business acumen, then we are all for that.
Also, we know money doesn’t mean anything, but the fact that Lex is a billionaire certainly does not hurt his chances. After all, this just means he could spoil you if you want. Plus, the fact that he is good with money also showcases a level of responsibility that is definitely attractive in anyone, but especially someone you are thinking of going on a date with.
Lex Luthor has his flaws, like being an ego-maniacal bad guy with a penchant for wanting to destroy Superman, but he is also a solid businessman with confidence and intelligence. And that has to count for something.
