15 theme park rides that’ll help keep you cool (literally)

Splash Mountain at Walt Disney World and Disneyland
Both Walt Disney World and Disneyland have the classic attraction Splash Mountain. This is the perfect ride to cool you down on a hot day in central Florida or southern California. Both rides are pretty similar where guests sit in a log flume to take a journey to the briar patch. You might encounter some friendly faces such as Briar Rabbit, but watch out for Briar Fox and Briar Bear. Those two aren’t the nicest of critters to be hanging around with.
Along the way, you may get wet. And at the end during the final drop, you’ll definitely get wet. If you are not wanting to get completely soaked, wear a disposable poncho on this ride. If you’re riding at Walt Disney World and don’t want to get drenched, be sure to sit on the left side of the ride vehicle. There is a waterfall on the right that gets the boats as they go by near the end of the attraction.
While most of the queue is shaded which will keep you cool, the best way to cool down fast is to grab a FastPass through the park app for a minimal wait time. At Walt Disney World, Splash Mountain is located in the Frontierland part of the Magic Kingdom. At Disneyland, it’s located in Critter Country.
