Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay: 9 perfect Instagram ideas for your visit
By Megan DuBois
Imagine a white sand beach and beautiful blue waters. You might be thinking of a tropical island, but it’s all at Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay!
The beautiful water park is located right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Universal Orlando Resort. Volcano Bay features thrilling attractions, beautiful beaches, delicious food, and of course a massive volcano. Once you step into the lush entry way to receive your TapuTapu, you are instantly transported out of Orlando, Florida and into a tropical paradise.
Speaking of TapuTapu, these wristbands allow you to select attractions and wait virtually so you have more time to enjoy other areas of the park including the lazy river, splash zones, and beaches … as well as take some excellent photos for Instagram.
Here are the nine best ways to snap those perfect shots!
The entrance
The entry way into Volcano Bay is the perfect spot for a photo. The banners are so bright and colorful during the day, and at night they transform with sunset colored lighting. This is where you’ll also get your TapuTapu for the day.
Any of the beaches
The beaches around Volcano Bay are stunning. With views like this, why would anyone ever want to go anywhere else? There are umbrellas and lounge chairs covering the main beach, then scattered around the rest of the park. The smaller beach areas tend to be less crowded and quieter for a little more rest and relaxation throughout the day.
The Water Fusion ice cream
If you only eat one thing while you’re visiting Volcano Bay, you need to be sure to get the Water Fusion ice cream. This colorful treat is served in a cup or a cone and makes for the best photos on the beach. Not only is the ice cream super Instagram worthy, it tastes delicious since it’s made up of four different flavors, banana, blue raspberry, orange and strawberry.
The statues
Before walking down to the beach and the wave pool, you’ll find some super cute statues. These statues can be found throughout the park, but this spot in particular is definitely Instagram worthy with Krakatau, the park’s iconic volcano, in the background!
Kopiko Wai Winding River
Volcano Bay features crystal blue waters throughout the park. They’re most prominent at the Kopiko Wai Winding River. The lazy river takes travelers through a majority of the park as water gets sprayed, guests go beneath the lava rocks and into Stargazer’s Cavern.
Cabana Bay
The view from Universal’s Cabana Bay Resort into Volcano Bay really cannot be beat. This is the perfect way to start any day at Universal Orlando Resort, but especially a day that’s going to be spent at the water park. Even at night, guests staying here can see Krakatau smoking, bubbling, and changing colors.
The virtual line statues
Throughout Volcano Bay you’ll see stations like this, which are super cute for Instagram, but also your way of starting your time in a virtual line. Be sure to put your best TapuTapu forward — these tiki gods don’t want to look bad on Instagram!
The view from above
You really cannot have enough aerial views of Volcano Bay. The park is so bright and vibrant with all of the yellow and blue umbrellas and chairs. This Instagram worthy moment is only available at the very top of attractions, so be sure to bring something to keep your phone dry as you slide down water slides.
The wave pool
It’s not a trip to Volcano Bay if you didn’t get in the wave pool to grab a photo like this to make all of your friends jealous that you’re on vacation and they aren’t. Grab a drink and take the cutest Instagram of your time at Volcano Bay.
