When you’re a Grammy nominated musician who has been winning in the style department since day one, you know people are going to expect something completely off the charts at the Met Gala. Janelle Monáe knows this, and had no problems delivering the ultimate style package last night.

Donning a Christian Siriano gown complete with a blinking eye and lots of hats that’d make even the most stylish Kentucky Derby fashionista jealous, Janelle did not come to play. Instead, she slayed.

To complete her fashionable choices, Janelle opted for a toned down makeup look — but she still looked dewy, fresh-faced and honestly we question if this woman will ever age. Probably not. But it’s okay, she and Angela Basset can just hang out and do what they do while everyone below ages away.

P.S. The fact Janelle never lost one of those hats last night defies gravity and logic, but again, this is Janelle Monáe.
