Met Gala 2019: 16 of the campiest looks of the night

The Met Gala is the ultimate fashion night of the year with many celebrities going all out to channel the theme of the night. And 2019 was no different.

Every year, the Met Gala, which is an annual fundraising event featuring celebrities in formal dress and stunning looks, puts on a show that leaves many of us in awe. And this year, the theme of the show was “Camp: Notes on Fashion.”

Not sure what camp means? Not a problem, because Met Gala God Billy Porter broke it down for all of us last night.

“Camp means irreverence,” Porter told to Variety last night. “Camp means as hugely over-the-top and grand and what some may feel is ridiculous and silly, and embracing all of those creative impulses inside us that very often are squelched.”

With that in mind, it seemed as if every celebrity walking the pink carpet was prepared to wow, and wow they did. From Cardi B to Katy Perry, the stars were out in full force with looks that screamed campy and dazzling in equal measure. And while some of these looks may not work anywhere else, at this fundraiser anything goes.

With so many stunning looks, it can be hard to narrow down the very best. But that’s why we are here — to find the campiest looks. And luckily with so many amazing options this year, we didn’t have to look very hard.

While some of these looks may seem a bit tamer than others, these are all of the outfits that we loved and that called to our sense of style of fashion.
