Game of Thrones season 8 episode 4: Who will live and who will die?

Ghost
Ghost survived the Walkers! The entire Dothraki army were quite literally extinguished by the Wights in the same charge but this plucky direwolf, whose family’s life expectancy hasn’t been particularly glowing in this show, lives! Who knew?
We’re genuinely happy, of course. We couldn’t handle seeing Jon all sad, and we certainly couldn’t handle a shot of Ghost mauled in the snow.
But it does worry us now when it comes to Cersei, the Lady-killer. Hopefully Jon won’t let her get too close.
Chance of survival: Not all dogs go to Heaven.
Jon Snow
Things Jon Snow is good at: fighting White Walkers.
Things Jon Snow is not so good at: being anything less than completely earnest.
On one hand, he did survive undercover with the wildlings. On the other, he did fall madly in love with Ygritte and bring the wildlings north of the wall in the end because he really liked them. And then he got murdered for doing so.
All in all, he’s an extremely mixed bag, when you try and measure him up politically.
Indeed, as Tumblr user Stark pointed out, for the first time in years, Jon will have to talk about something other than the Night King and the oncoming dead. What’s he going to do now, without his steadfast (almost a pun) ice-breaker? Talk about the weather?
Well, he is half-Stark.
As it stands, we don’t think he’ll die yet. We don’t know yet what purpose the Lord of Light brought him back for (Azor Ahai! Azor Ahai!), and he has the best claim to the Throne since…well, his dad Rhaegar Targaryen probably.
We don’t know about his odds for the rest of the season but for this episode? Straight after surviving the Extremely Dangerous Zombies? Pretty good, really.
Chance of survival: (Azor A)high!
Daenerys Targaryen
We have to laugh. Remember when we thought Dany would die, and Jorah might live? Oh, we were such sweet summer children.
Unlike her closest confidante, Dany did survive the Night King, despite looking a bit shaky, reminding us that she has never truly been on the front line without a dragon backing her up.
She held her own, of course — and being a good hand-to-hand or sword fighter isn’t everything, since we’d never besmirch the good name of Sansa for instance — but it is an interesting observation, and we wonder whether it’ll become a source of contention going forward.
Either way, it looks like she has her sights set on war in the South. After facing the Night King, perhaps she’ll underestimate the strength of her newest opponent. She’s probably got a couple of episodes to work it out though.
Chance of survival: Pretty fair, all things considered.
Arya Stark
What do we say to the God of Death?
After her legend-cementing turn last week, I think we can safely assume Arya is going to survive the next episode. Unless Game of Thrones has lulled us into a false sense of security. Defeat the Night King in one episode, trip and fall onto your own sword in the next.
Well, it would be shocking.
Chance of survival: Higher than Arya can jump, which is really very high apparently
