The Battle of Winterfell commenced and few words were spoken, but the lines we did here were certainly some powerful ones.

For a show that’s so dramatic and all about talking about planning, Game of Thrones‘ Battle of Winterfell episode was all about fighting.

In a typical episode, we usually get lots of quips from Tyrion or Tormund. But this time, the fear set in so deep, that barely anyone could say a word. Heck, even The Hound, who’s used to spitting out profanities and insults, was silent — except for a few drops of “we gonna die tonight.” And we don’t blame them. It’s not every day that the Dothraki retreat from battle, horses and all.

Needless to say, the Night King came, he saw, and he almost conquered. The tense moments throughout the battle had us all on the edge of our seats for this very long battle, leaving us to mourn over those we lost, and root for those who fought nobly.

In between those long, bloody battles were a few moments of peace where characters got to have a word with one another. Arya had a moment with Sansa, Sansa had a moment with Tyrion, and Bran had a very touching moment with Theon.

Despite the lines being far and few, the lines that we did here honestly packed a powerful punch. Here are five quotes from Sunday’s episode that you’ll definitely be quoting all week.
