Welcome to Culturess’ second death pool for Game of Thrones season 8. Who will survive? For episodes like the one coming up, we feel it might be easier just to say: no one.

We left Winterfell on the eve — nay, the edge — of battle with the formidable and tireless White Walkers. In one of the best episodes of the entire series, we got to spend quality time with many of our beloved characters but you can bet your bottom dollar, the more emotional the encounter, the less likely their chance of survival now.

So let us heed that golden rule as we go into episode 3 – but take heart in this too, as noted by the Hollywood Reporter: Game of Thrones enjoys a good double bluff…

Beric Dondarrion

He’ll be the first to go. There’s very little purpose and very little plot left for him, not to mention an overcrowded marketplace for characters who were important before, but not so much now. He’s pretty much a shoo-in for an early death to thin things out.

Chance of survival: He’s cannon fodder.

Grey Worm

Grey Worm puts the worm in worm food. Not to be insensitive about it, we only laugh but to keep from weeping, but the moment he mentioned protecting Missandei and taking her home, his fate was sealed.

We’re going to have to watch this warrior come up against the only enemy he couldn’t defeat: death itself (insert impressed “oooooohs” here, please).

Chance of survival: Oh worm.

Our eyesight

A returning character from last week’s death pool, our eyesight looks fully set to truly suffer during the Battle of Winterfell. Everything is so dark…has anyone in Winterfell heard of a flashlight?

Chance of survival: RIP

Gilly and Baby Sam

Ah, Gilly and Baby Sam are safe in the crypts. The crypts which are safe. The safe crypts.

PSYCH!

Did Game of Thrones’ extremely subtle signposting lead you to believe that maybe the apparently very safe crypts of Winterfell are not, in fact, safe at all? You are not alone. That, and the extreme Titanic-like image of Gilly, Sam and Baby Sam all tucked up in bed means…oh, we can’t type it. Fingers crossed for an unlikely escape.

Chance of survival: As safe as the crypt, also known as clearly not at all
