Brie Larson shared what it was like to film the mid-credits scene for Captain Marvel. The new Avenger says she barely knew what was going on during filming.

Marvel has not made it easy for its actors when it comes to filming its last few movies, including Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. With numerous stars saying they received dummy scripts (like Mark Ruffalo) and filmed fake scenes, you have to wonder how they even pulled it off.

One of the most astounding stories from the secretive Marvel set comes from Brie Larson, who appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and revealed one scene that was completely shrouded in mystery.

Of all the scenes she filmed, the mid-credits scene was one where she says she got very little information about what she filmed. In the final cut of the scene teasing Endgame, you see Fury’s pager flashing with Captain Marvel’s symbol until it stops. While the Avengers discuss who could have answered the device, Captain Marvel immediately arrives and asks “Where’s Fury?”

The scene may appear well put together on the big screen. But while filming, Larson said she barely had a clue what was going on:

"I was by myself on a greenscreen and I walked in. They’re like “Just real quick. We’re just gonna whip pan over to you and you’re just gonna go, ‘Where’s Fury?'” And I was like “Cool, cool. I got it. I got it.” They whip pan over to me and I was like, “Wait. Where… But where is he actually? Is he in the room? … Or is it like another universe or whatever?”They’re like, “He’s very gone.” And I was like, I think this means he’s, like… He’s dead."

Once Larson got their gist, she revealed the scene directors then wanted her to look at the other people in the room, even though she was filming all by herself. They couldn’t tell her exactly who was there (the Avengers), but she did try her best to get the scene done right.

In the interview, Larson confirmed once again that she filmed Avengers: Endgame before Captain Marvel. But she didn’t say for sure if the scene was filmed during Avengers shoots or Captain Marvel shoots.

It could have been that she filmed the scene quite early on, because eventually, she would have to learn about the snap. (Right?) Since Captain Marvel’s role is for the post-Infinity War narrative, it had to be imperative that she knew what she was filming and why. At the same time, we wouldn’t hold it against the Russo brothers to keep everything a secret for the entirety of filming.
