Game of Thrones aired its second episode of season 8 tonight. Find out which unlucky souls didn’t make it… or if, by chance, we had a deathless episode.

Warning: Below, you’ll find spoilers for tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones

Tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones continued to check off several boxes for fans. Similar to the season 8 premiere, we witnessed more reunions, as well as a few interesting showdowns.

Did any of these result in a death though?

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it as a fan, no one died during episode 2.

However, one prominent ego met its death this week — Jaime Lannister’s. It began with his much-anticipated meeting with Daenerys Targaryen.

Daenerys is obviously not a fan of the man who killed her father, as insane and cruel as the Mad King was. Despite everything she has achieved since going into exile, she was still exiled, and we know for a fact not all of that was a pleasant experience. Thus Daenerys is more than ready to get rid of Jaime, and be done with the Kingslayer for good.

Sansa ends up saving Jaime’s lion skin, after hearing from Brienne of Tarth that Jaime does have honor and Brienne wouldn’t be alive today (or have been able to help Sansa) if it weren’t for him. As predicted, Jaime was able to walk away from his meeting with Daenerys unscathed.

Jaime continues to let go of his once arrogant persona by meeting with Bran Stark, and apologizing for essentially trying to kill him. Bran notes that if it weren’t for Jaime doing what he did, he’d still be cocky and Bran would still be Brandon Stark.

And finally, that memorable knighting scene with Brienne of Tarth — now Ser Brienne of Tarth — solidifies to us that Jerk Jaime Lannister is dead, and a much nobler man has taken his place.

However, Jaime and his brother Tyrion really need to watch out moving forward. Daenerys may have spared Jaime’s life for now, but she’s not one to forget those who have wronged her on her path to the Iron Throne. That, plus her growing frustration with her current advisor, Tyrion, spells trouble for the Lannister brothers moving forward.
