Interview With A Serial Killer
The documentary Interview With A Serial Killer, directed by Christopher Martin, tells the story of the infamous Genessee River Killer, Arthur Shawcross, a New York resident.
Even if you have never heard of the Genessee River Killer, this documentary is definitely one to check out if you like to see inside the mind of people who have committed heinous crimes. In this documentary, the audience is given a background of Shawcross’s upbringing, noting the abuse and bullying he suffered as a child.
Then, Shawcross is interviewed in prison about the details of his crimes such as the locations of the bodies, the way he murdered the 11 women he was convicted of in court, and the way these murders made him feel. It’s actually pretty gruesome and disturbing to hear this man talk about the rush he got from each murder and what he remembers from each killing, so be warned if hearing these kinds of details straight from the source is not your thing.
Shawcross is not all-sharing, though. There are certain topics the interviewer pushes that he will not answer to. The push and pull dynamic will have viewers wondering what Shawcross is so ashamed of if he is already sharing so much about his crimes.
Don’t miss this documentary if you love delving into the human psyche and really exploring the dark depths of human nature.
