Characters inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have dedicated spaces to see favorite Star Wars characters. The Star Wars Launch Bay is where guests can find Chewbacca, Rey, Kylo Ren, and other galactic friends.
With the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we presume most of these characters will no longer meet inside the Star Wars Launch Bay, but inside the new land. Why? Well, Disney holds up to its high standard of character integrity by saying no character can be in two places at once.
Who can you expect to see inside Galaxy’s Edge? Definitely Chewbacca, as he’s going to be part of the queue space for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Since the First Order runs Black Spire Outpost, guests might also encounter legions of Stormtroopers, Imperial Guards, and TIE Fighter Pilots. As for Resistance friends, we can assume if there are TIE Fighter Pilots, there will be Resistance Pilots and maybe even BB-8 rolling around.
Right when you step into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you yourself become a character. If you crash the Millennium Falcon, for example, everyone is going to know your name. Cast Members working in the area will know your history and who you fight for.
Speaking of Cast Members, they get to get in on the fun, too, by staying in-story and becoming their own character while working. Even though Toy Story Land is right over the fence from Galaxy’s Edge, they would have no idea about what Slinky Dog Dash is, or anything in the Toy Story universe for that matter, making for an even more immersive experience.
