Use the interactive app

Part of the fun of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is that you are the story. The new land drops you off and lets you create memories of a lifetime. Before getting to Disneyland or Walt Disney World, be sure to download the Disney Play Parks app. It’s free in most app stores and is compatible on most smartphones.

With the app, you’ll be able to interact with various droids, media screens, door panels, decode Aurebesh, intercept transmissions, and so much more. Guests will also be able to accept jobs and complete tasks to aid the First Order or the Resistance.

The Disney Play Parks app has gone over well in other parts of the Disney Parks, so being able to use it inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be a fun new addition to the interactive game. Through the app, it looks like guests will also be able to collect Galactic Credits to help them move up in ranking inside Black Spire Outpost.

If you are going to use the app, be warned that it does take a lot out of your phone battery, meaning you’ll need a portable charger. Disney has Fuel Rod stations throughout the park for moments like this. If you are going to buy a Fuel Rod, get it before heading to the parks. It’s a bit cheaper to buy it online versus at the kiosk inside Disneyland or Walt Disney World.
